Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) invites eligible electrical and renewable energy installers and suppliers to apply for certification interviews to be conducted by the Electrical Installation Permits Committee (IPCO).  All Electrical and Renewable Energy Installers and Suppliers who are not yet certified by MERA or wish to upgrade their classes of permits are encouraged to apply.

Application forms can be collected from MERA offices at MERA Complex in Lilongwe, at Chayamba Building Mezamine Floor in Blantyre, or at MPICO House in Mzuzu.  Soft copies can be obtained from MERA website www.mera.mw/how-to-apply or upon request.

All applicants will be required to submit the following:

  1.  Copies of their Company’s Registration Certificate;
  1. Copies of Certificates of relevant electrical and /or renewable energy academic and professional qualifications;
  2. Copies of their National Identification;
  3. Proof of employment of a competent person (for company applications); and
  4. Copies of Certificates of past Permits for those wishing to upgrade.

Candidates invited to the assessment interviews shall be required to bring original copies of the above submissions to the interviews.

 The minimum qualifications are TEVET Level 3 in Electrical field(or Grade 1 National Trade Test Certificate)and three (3) years of post-qualification practical experience.

The closing date for submission of application forms to be considered in the next interviews is 12 April 2024. Only shortlisted candidates shall be invited for the interviews.  Late submissions will not be entertained.
