MERA promotes Biogas technology at the 21st National Agriculture Fair in Blantyre
The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) is promoting Biogas technology at the 21st National Agriculture Fair, taking place from August 28th to 30th, 2025, at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre.
As the regulator of the energy sector, MERA is dedicated to promoting sustainable energy solutions that contribute to the agricultural development of the nation.
This year, MERA is showcasing innovative biogas technologies in collaboration with Ecogen, a company known for its commitment to providing environmentally friendly biogas and organic fertilizers. These technologies offer benefits not only for farmers but also for consumers, fostering better environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
The theme of this year’s fair, “Achieving Self-Reliance through Agricultural Commercialization,” perfectly aligns with MERA’s activities to advocate for the use of renewable energy sources, which play a vital role in protecting the environment while enhancing agricultural productivities.
The 21st National Agriculture Fair has attracted a lot of exhibitors across the agricultural sector, each presenting a variety of innovative products aimed at driving economic growth in the country.
