THE COUNTRY HAS ADEQUATE FUEL STOCKS
The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) would like to assure the general public that the country continues to import sufficient fuel stocks to meet national demand.
Stakeholders within the fuel supply chain are committed to ensuring that our country is well supplied with fuel, which is essential for economic activities and daily life. Importers have been loading fuel from both ports of Beira and Dar es Salaam, on top of volumes that have been lifted from Tanga.
In view of the above, MERA does not anticipate fuel shortages. Therefore, we encourage the public to dismiss any misleading information regarding purported impending fuel shortages.
MERA would like to thank and request stakeholders and the public for their continued cooperation and support. Please report any illegal fuel trading practices to the nearest Police Station or call toll-free 4259 or email: mera@mera.mw .
